Marbella Mayor, Gregory J. Heep approved an executive order prohibiting firearms on city property.
When the order goes into effect, firearms will be prohibited on property owned by the city of Marbella, including parks and community centers.
The order follows the May 24 shooting at Folklife Festival which injured three people.
"The city's parks, community centers are safer without guns. We can't wait for another incident, another innocent victim," Heep said.
